Welcome To Mission Hills Chiropractic

We understand that you have a choice in chiropractic care. We at Mission Hills Chiropractic prides ourselves in our modern facility, in our courteous and knowledgeable staff, and in our team of doctors with over 50 years of combined experience. But most of all, we pride ourselves in our clients, like those who have said the following things about us:

  • This team is not just a chiropractor’s office, they are lifesavers. (E. T.)
  • I have no doubt that the only reason I’m on my feet and walking is because of Dr. Stutzman and his incredible staff. When I came to him, I couldn’t walk, sleep or anything. Within weeks, relief was at hand. (Randy B.)
  • The staff is very helpful and will answer any of your insurance questions or concerns. (Darrell P.)
  • I’ve been a patient here for about a month and I can’t say enough positive things about this office. That horrible pain in my neck is finally subsiding. I look forward to many more adjustments and making this office an integral part of my plan to better my overall health. (Cori L.)
  • I’ve been to many different chiropractors over the years but have never felt so much relief until seeing Dr. Gooing. Not only do I not have lower back pain anymore, but Dr. G took time to adjust me without inflicting the pain that I experienced at other chiropractors. (Doris C.)
  • When you leave you are in good spirits and your body is in a state of healing. I cannot thank Dr. J enough for giving me my balance back and for helping me feel strong again. (Barbara G.)

What is Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care discipline that emphasizes on the inherent recuperative power of the body to heat itself without the use of drugs or surgery. It focuses on the relationship between structure (the spine) and function (the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health.

The nervous system is the master controller of all living cells, tissues and organs; orchestrating and coordinating all cellular functions. The spinal column encases the nervous system and is responsible for its protection. Sometimes, there are abnormalities in the spinal column that negatively influence the functioning of cells, tissues and organs that are supplied by the affected nerves.

In short, because the body’s innate recuperative powers are affected by and integrated through the nervous system, correcting spinal abnormalities can lead to a number of favorable results in patients suffering from various, seemingly non-spinal health conditions. These include asthma, digestive problems, vertigo, headaches, sinuses and muscle problems.

Our doctors use specialized techniques to identify these spinal abnormalities and optimize overall health. In addition to adjusting techniques, soft tissue techniques, dietary and nutritional counseling, physical therapy and lifestyle modification are commonly done.

Regular chiropractic care has a number of benefits including:

  • Spinal and extremity pain relief
  • Headache relief
  • Increased mobility and range of motion
  • Decreased stiffness and muscular spasms
  • Arthritic joint relief
  • Increased joint health
  • Increased performance and energy
  • Increased sense of well being and relaxation
  • Increased balance and coordination
  • Reduced degeneration and risk of injury
  • Enhanced tissue healing
  • Decreased tissue inflammation
If it’s your first time visiting Mission Hills Chiropractic, here’s what you can expect:

Brief Paperwork: We will have paperwork for you to fill out. This provides us with general information about you and your condition.

Consultation: Once the paperwork has been completed, you will have a consultation with one of our doctors to discuss health-related problems, concerns as well as potential treatment options.

History and Examination: In order to determine what your actual problem is, the doctor will ask you various questions related to your condition. Next, a number of tests will be performed to determine which tissues are affected and to what extent.

X-Ray: Your specific condition may require us to take x-rays to either rule out more serious conditions or assist us in developing the most effective treatment plan for you.

Treatment: Once you’re all finished with the examination and all appropriate studies, you’ll be provided with your first treatment. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies and/or soft tissue therapies.

Home Instruction: We may give you instructions on certain activities or procedures to be conducted at home. These can include ice or heat application, corrective exercises, lifestyle advice and nutritional counseling.

Schedule Your Next Appointment: Before you go, you’ll be given a convenient follow-up appointment. Our patients are typically seen within 1-2 days.

Do chiropractors treat problems other than back pains?
Yes. Although the anatomical focus of our doctors is on the human spine, they are also effective sources of preventative and wellness care. Furthermore, they provide treatment for all types of soft tissue disorders, joint conditions and even non-soft tissue conditions like headaches, ulcers and ear infections in children.
Could I be hurt by chiropractic care? Is it safe?
The adjustment process is a safe and efficient procedure. Chiropractic care is non-invasive meaning that the body’s response to this type of care is far more predictable than its reactions to drug treatments or surgical procedures. Research shows that chiropractic care is among the safest care available. The treatments themselves are not painful. In fact, our clients look forward to their treatments as many experience instantaneous relief.
Is it true that once I start chiropractic care, I’ll have to continue it for the rest of my life?
Once chiropractic eliminates your pain and rehabilitates injured tissues, we do recommend that you maintain a periodic schedule of spinal checkups. Periodic chiropractic care minimizes spinal and nerve stresses, reduces recurrences of old injuries, prevents new injuries, and decreases degenerative processes.
Is chiropractic care expensive?
Mission Hills Chiropractic provides effective, low-cost care for a wide range of conditions. We accept most insurance, medicare and will work with clients on arranging payment plans.
Can children see a chiropractor?
Yes. Our doctors regularly treat children. Research has shown that pediatric chiropractics encourages brain and nerve development, strengthens immunity, assists in alleviating digestive problems, and improves ability to concentrate.
