TMJ
TMJ treatment from a chiropractor will treat the causes of TMJ and allow you to return to living your life as normal. Temporomandibular joint syndrome can cause chronic pain in the head, including the ear, and is related to the muscles and nerves around the joint.
While chiropractor jaw pain treatment can be effective for treatment of TMJ in anyone, it is more common for women to suffer from TMJ than men.
What Causes TMJ?

The symptoms can include spasming muscles and the patient being unable to effectively open or close the jaw, with pain around the jaw, across the face, and possibly including the whole head and neck with headaches and even shoulder pain.
This makes it difficult for the patient to talk, eat, and perform many regular day to day activities. Pain relief drugs may be recommended, including anti-inflammatories. It is sometimes considered to be a dental problem, and so dental splints may be recommended, but often the problem may not be directly with the jaw itself. The muscles in the face can have an effect on the problem, as can other parts of the body.
A misalignment of the bones in the neck or problems with the soft tissues (including muscles) around the neck can cause compression to nerves, or cause the patient to suffer from poor posture. Holding the head in a particular way to compensate for this can overwork muscles and cause spasming that cannot be resolved.
TMJ Treatment
A TMJ chiropractor will initially examine the patient to determine the best course of treatment, and then proceed with gentle realignments of the neck bones. The procedure is safe and natural, and can immediately relieve pain and cause spasming muscles to release.
This allows the jaw to return to normal function in a pain-free manner, giving relief from the pain and a natural solution to the problem.
